Event Details

Kick off 2010 with an introduction to the ActionScript 3.0 port of the Box2D Physics engine. Box 2D was originally a C++ library which allows developers to simulate gravity, inertia, collisions, and various simple machine behaviors in Flash.

Our guest presenter, Brian Busche will touch on a recent project he helped develop where this technique was used to create an engaging web site for a popular breakfast cereal. Examples will be provided that are intended to help programmers quickly understand the basics of Box2D. Non-programmers may find the examples easy enough to help them create very simple 2D Physics content in Flash.

Box2D was originally developed by Erin Catto and ported to Flash AS3 by Colin Northway. See www.box2d.org for more info.
